LABIAPLASTY

Vaginal rejuvenation, particularly labiaplasty, has become very popular over the last few years. Women are requesting reduction in the size of the labia minora for a number of reasons, chief among them being protrusion of the labia minora beyond the labia majora. The surgery involves a wedge resection of the protruding part of the labia, and it can be performed under local anesthesia alone, but adding intravenous sedation is an option. Recovery is relatively uneventful, although patients must avoid sexual intercourse for approximately 6 weeks.
